Great class! Not only was the content very good but the trainer was extremely good. Art knows the content very well and teaches in a way that is easily understandable and encourages participation. I believe I'll really be able to use many of these concepts in my day to day job.

Art is an outstanding teacher. I learned more than Scrum in this class. I learned how to communicate and present information in an excellent way. For sure it's not an easy thing in practice and requires solid knowledge on the subject, but he is an example to follow. Art and PSFS were fantastic
Art and PSFS were fantastic! It was the exact kind of facilitation mindset shift that I needed. This course balances principles, skills and theory with techniques and practical application. As you are participating in exercises you are learning facilitation techniques at the same time.
There are two major takeaways Art honed emphasized and made sure we understood before proceeding deeply into class:
1) A facilitator is not a participant. It is a different stance. Facilitating is NOT the same as leading a meeting or group discussion.
2) As a facilitator you are not responsible for decisions made in the meeting; you are helping a group of people develop an outcome
These are elevated and mind bending concepts to grasp, but once you understand them, it is freeing. Takeaway #2 has reduced my stress, nervousness and fear or being judged when facilitating.

Excellent course
Great course. Highly recommend it. Learned new facilitation skills, techniques and revisit on the ones I already knew. Got fresh perspective and new ideas how / where I can start applying those. (top of mind favorite – Let’s create a disaster!) One of the key takeaways was understanding difference between Facilitator Vs Participant, Facilitator vs Scrum Master – NOT always the same. Last but not the least, motivation to get the PSFS certification 😊

Applying Professional Scrum!
I took the Applying Professional Scrum course taught by Art Laschonau at the end of September, 2022 and it was fantastic. Great teacher; great cohort of students! I am a very new developer working in a (sort of) scrum team, and what I learned there was refined and enhanced by the course. Very much looking forward to improving my practice and understanding of scrum in the future.
I took the PSM I exam a couple days after the course and felt very well prepared to pass, but even more well prepared to participate in a scrum environment!

I thought Art did an exceptional job in…
I thought Art did an exceptional job in teaching and providing the guidance to successfully bring forth all of the SCRUM details. I learned a lot about SCRUM and AGILE and appreciate his life experiences. My only suggestion for possible improvement, and I sure it won't count for much as he has taught this many times, is this..., when you introduce the notion of the website, just tell people where to go to start. We spent most of that time trying to agree where to start and it seemed to be the source, for me, of a lot of unrelative angst that I took into the lessons after the exercise. It frustrated and aggravated me and it tainted my initial excitement about learning/participating in the class. What would be the harm in just telling teams to go to WIX? All of the other challenges persist. This continues to be a distraction for me even after the fact. Otherwise, the class was exceptional and very informative and again, I think Art was a great source of guidance and real world experience.

There were some concerns about persons not participating, Art joined break out rooms and helped engage the team. Two Scrums Up
Such a spectacular experience of getting an in depth formalization of the Scrum Master role. Art was able to give the group real world experiences and the knowledge to attempt the PSM. Plenty of challenging activities and lots of interaction among the students.

Excellent facilitator, fun class, good materials
The materials were useful and the facilitator was excellent! Particularly helpful was the way he asked probing questions and engaged the participants in role-play. There was also a nice balance of humor to even out the seriousness of the content. He made a large amount of dense content manageable and understandable.

Art is extremely knowledgable at APS. He was able to drive conversations using real life examples helping the class understand not just the why and what, but how. I would strongly recommend his class for people who are not just new to scrum, but to professionals who are using it.

Perfect addition to my facilitation toolbelt!
The PSFS class was a perfect addition to my existing knowledge and experience with facilitation. The focus on PRINCIPLES was really evident, and something that I will take with my as I continue on with my facilitation journey, and the techniques and skills you discuss in the class will compliment my abilities really well. Art and PSFS were fantastic
Art and PSFS were fantastic! It was the exact kind of facilitation mindset shift that I needed. This course balances principles, skills and theory with techniques and practical application. As you are participating in exercises you are learning facilitation techniques at the same time.
There are two major takeaways Art honed emphasized and made sure we understood before proceeding deeply into class:
1) A facilitator is not a participant. It is a different stance. Facilitating is NOT the same as leading a meeting or group discussion.
2) As a facilitator you are not responsible for decisions made in the meeting; you are helping a group of people develop an outcome
These are elevated and mind bending concepts to grasp, but once you understand them, it is freeing. Takeaway #2 has reduced my stress, nervousness and fear or being judged when facilitating.

Excellent course
Great course. Highly recommend it. Learned new facilitation skills, techniques and revisit on the ones I already knew. Got fresh perspective and new ideas how / where I can start applying those. (top of mind favorite – Let’s create a disaster!) One of the key takeaways was understanding difference between Facilitator Vs Participant, Facilitator vs Scrum Master – NOT always the same. Last but not the least, motivation to get the PSFS certification 😊

Applying Professional Scrum!
I took the Applying Professional Scrum course taught by Art Laschonau at the end of September, 2022 and it was fantastic. Great teacher; great cohort of students! I am a very new developer working in a (sort of) scrum team, and what I learned there was refined and enhanced by the course. Very much looking forward to improving my practice and understanding of scrum in the future.
I took the PSM I exam a couple days after the course and felt very well prepared to pass, but even more well prepared to participate in a scrum environment!

Art was very knowledgeable, prepared, and passionate about Agile and Scrum. He provided practical examples in an interactive Scrum team environment and demonstrated how to apply Scrum principles. He was very well prepared, adept with the virtual technology (i.e., breakout rooms and Mural), optimized content and format for adult professionals. And his timing was impeccable...it was down to the minute, including Q&A throughout the day. He has this totally worked out.

I thought Art did an exceptional job in…
I thought Art did an exceptional job in teaching and providing the guidance to successfully bring forth all of the SCRUM details. I learned a lot about SCRUM and AGILE and appreciate his life experiences. My only suggestion for possible improvement, and I sure it won't count for much as he has taught this many times, is this..., when you introduce the notion of the website, just tell people where to go to start. We spent most of that time trying to agree where to start and it seemed to be the source, for me, of a lot of unrelative angst that I took into the lessons after the exercise. It frustrated and aggravated me and it tainted my initial excitement about learning/participating in the class. What would be the harm in just telling teams to go to WIX? All of the other challenges persist. This continues to be a distraction for me even after the fact. Otherwise, the class was exceptional and very informative and again, I think Art was a great source of guidance and real world experience.

There were some concerns about persons not participating, Art joined break out rooms and helped engage the team. Two Scrums Up
Such a spectacular experience of getting an in depth formalization of the Scrum Master role. Art was able to give the group real world experiences and the knowledge to attempt the PSM. Plenty of challenging activities and lots of interaction among the students.

Excellent facilitator, fun class, good materials
The materials were useful and the facilitator was excellent! Particularly helpful was the way he asked probing questions and engaged the participants in role-play. There was also a nice balance of humor to even out the seriousness of the content. He made a large amount of dense content manageable and understandable.
