Lucas Smith

Lucas is the Head of Agile at Toyota Connected and Connected Technologies division of Toyota Motors North America. He currently manages a team of agilists who are helping Toyota define the future of mobility in the critical spaces of connected and intelligent vehicles, safety services, human to vehicle interaction, mobile app development, vehicle data processing, big data machine learning, and more.   

Lucas has a computer engineering degree from Penn State University and a Master's in telecommunications systems from George Mason University. He started his career with Boeing in Washington DC as a software engineer and manager before leading the agile transformation within his division of Boeing (in various roles as Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Training/Coach).  Lucas additionally spent several years in the consulting and training space working with companies and individuals across many industries to improve their agility before taking on his role at Toyota.  Lucas's diversity of experience gives him a wide breadth of understanding that he pulls from in his training, coaching, and technical engagements. 

Lucas is passionate about creating engaged, productive, and innovative teams, and views this as a daily challenges that continually pushes him to grow personally and professionally.
