Scrum.org Continues to Help Avanade Build Its Worldwide Agile Capabilities
Avanade and Scrum.org Renew Their Partnership In Principle Agreement
Seattle and Boston – May 4, 2016 – Scrum.org, the mission-based organization dedicated to improving the profession of software development, has announced that it has renewed its Partnership in Principle agreement with Avanade, the leading provider of innovative digital services, business solutions and design-led experiences, to help them continue to develop, validate and improve their agile capability. The renewal of this Partnership in Principle agreement continues the successful collaboration Scrum.org has with Avanade to improve the software development landscape.
The partnership helps Avanade with the increase in demand for complex, large-scale opportunities with clients, which require thought-leadership guidance and help in implementing Scrum and DevOps, at the project and enterprise level. To satisfy this demand, Scrum.org thought leadership on Professional Scrum, scaling software and product development with the Nexus Framework and Evidence-Based Management are key to helping Avanade provide the necessary support for these clients. 17 of Avanade’s 34 Agile Coaches, its best agile practitioners, are now part of the Professional Scrum Trainer community, and since the original Partnership in Principle agreement was signed in March 2014, Avanade has trained more than 2,500 of its skilled experts. During that time, more than 20 percent of them have earned Professional Scrum Developer and Professional Scrum Master certifications and are actively helping clients with their agile expertise.
“We have had a fantastic relationship with Scrum.org so far, from which we have both seen the benefits,” said John-Paul Edwards, Senior Vice President, Global Delivery, Avanade. “Renewing our Partnership in Principle agreement further strengthens that relationship and demonstrates our commitment to building our agile capability worldwide. Avanade has long since realized that embracing an agile mind set will help both us and our clients in an ever evolving digital landscape. Delivery excellence and agility are at the core of everything we do at Avanade. They require a behavioural shift at all levels of the organization and this partnership underlines our commitment to our people, so they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to help our clients become more agile.”
Scrum.org Partners in Principle are organizations that join them in their mission to improve the profession of software development, abide by the Scrum values and actively seek to drive agility and transparency within their own organizations and with others. Scrum.org requires that Partner in Principle members be active in the wider agile and Scrum community. These organizations must first foster their internal development competencies and be able to demonstrate this initiative through evidence.
“Avanade embraces Scrum and agile values with an aim to foster agility and transparency internally, while delivering ultimate business value to its clients,” said Dave West, Product Owner, Scrum.org. “We are pleased to work with Avanade as a Partner in Principle to jointly deliver value through professional software development.”
