Ways to Take a Scrum.org Training Class
Find a solution that meets your individual or teams needs
Everyone has different needs when it comes to finding a training class, whether you are looking for something introductory, specific to your role or a more advanced topic, we invite you to explore and find a class that fits your professional needs or the needs of your team or organization. Both public and private training can take place in-person or in a live virtual setting.
Who is training for?
Public Training
"Learn with people from other companies and industries"
Public training is held on a regularly scheduled basis, that anyone from the public or any company can register for and attend based on a per person fee by searching the upcoming class schedule. If multiple people from the same company join a public class it is an opportunity for them to hear from others how they are working and get additional ideas from other companies and industries.
Private Training
"Learn together as a company"
Private training is held for a company or organization and generally priced based by the group. Depending on the groups size, multiple training classes may be required or additional fees per students may apply. Organizers of the class will work with a Scrum.org team member, a specific Professional Scrum Trainer and or a Scrum.org Training Partner to organize the class and optimize the learning experience for the company or team.
Where does training take place?
In-Person Training
"All students in the same physical classroom"
All students are in the same physical classroom either at a company site, external training room or other facility taking the class from an instructor all in the same room. Students may break into smaller groups within the classroom for exercises and activities, while they remain together physically. The instructor will observe activities and exercises to help answer questions and facilitate discussions as needed.
Live Virtual Training
"All students together in an online classroom"
There is an instructor leading the class and all students attend using online technology all at the same time, together. Students may break into smaller groups or virtual breakout rooms for exercises and activities. The instructor has the ability to enter and leave breakout rooms as needed to help answer questions, facilitate discussions and observe.
What are the different training formats?
Below you will find descriptions of the three different training formats offered by Scrum.org. Use this infographic for a quick overview of the benefits and commitments you can expect as a student, to help you make a decision about which training format is right for you.
Traditional Classroom Training
"Students learn together with a live instructor for a set number of days"
All of our courses embody the principles of Professional Scrum while providing a live hands-on, activity-based learning experience. Scrum.org training can be taken in-person or virtually, but are always done live with a Professional Scrum Trainer leading the class. Scrum.org has courses covering topics that range from the Scrum fundamentals and role-based learning to practices beyond the framework that complement Professional Scrum. With globally consistent training, you will receive the same learning experience from our Professional Scrum Trainers no matter where you and your team members are located around the world.
Flipped Learning
"Learn at your own pace, while reflecting and practicing together in the class"
Over a 4 week period, course content is divided into learning blocks, each with presentations and lectures in the form of videos, reading materials, and quizzes that are provided for self-study. From a common base of knowledge established through this self-study, students join a ½ day session once a week with their classmates and their Professional Scrum Trainer in a dynamic and interactive environment. In these classroom settings, there is a focused deep dive into the concepts of Scrum and the Scrum Master accountability through group activities, interactions, and the sharing of experiences, all with the guidance of a Professional Scrum Trainer.
Flipped Learning is currently only available for private classes and can be held in-person or virtually.
Immersion Training
"Gain the practical skills you need to affect positive change in your environment immediately"
All Scrum.org courses are centered around valuable learning outcomes, achieved through experiential learning within a classroom environment. Immersion Training is an alternative class format to traditional training where the class is broken up into short training sessions over several weeks. Additionally, Immersive Training extends the learning experience beyond the classroom by leading students to apply what they have learned in their jobs. This format is enhanced by incorporating facilitated reflections for improvement, making the learning experience highly effective and practical.
Immersion Training is currently available for public and private classes and can be held in-person or virtually.
